Credit Card Security
Visa has created a schedule requiring all merchants to implement secure payment transactions over the next two years. The latest requirement of the implementation process became effective on October 1, 2008 compelling all newly boarded merchants to be PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant or use PABP-compliant (Payment Application Best Practice) payment software applications. PABP standards do not apply to hardware terminals.
 
Unitec uses third party applications for credit processing. All these applications have been certified to be PABP compliant.
For dial-up credit processing:
  • Datatran dial payment device manufactured by Datacap Systems
 
For internet credit processing:
  • IP Tran system created by Datacap Systems
  • DSI Client with Net-e-Pay payment application from Datacap Systems
 
Site owners should be aware that PCI compliance disallows merchants from storing, printing or displaying sensitive customer data. Unitec products supporting this requirement must be running on the software versions listed (or newer) below:
